Arachnida, Araneae, Agelenidae, Agelenopsis longistylus
Description: Light brown or tan spiders with darker brown and gray markings on the cephalothorax and abodomen. Eight eyes in four groups of two. Most similar in appearance to wolf spiders, but usually found in the distinctive sheet webs with a funnel entrance.
Geographic Distribution: Throughout New Mexico.
Habitats: Outdoors in sheet webs in grasses, cacti, or among stones, usually near the ground.
Biology: Adults occur mostly in mid to late summer. Adult males wander in search of females in late summer.
